Body of missing 18-year-old Mount Pleasant man found near shoreline of Racine Zoo Beach

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The body of a missing 18-year-old man from Mount Pleasant was found near the shoreline of Racine Zoo Beach by a person walking a dog after ten days of the initial search Friday, Oct. 2. 

According to Mount Pleasant Police Department, the body was identified as Casey Shaw. 

Police received a report of a missing person on Sept. 22. On that date, detectives from the police department attempted to locate Shaw. 

Officials say information obtained led investigators to search near the area adjacent to Lake Michigan in Racine. Several agencies including the U.S. Coast Guard joined in the search for Shaw.

Ten days after the initial search, Shaw's body was found near the shoreline of Racine Zoo Beach by a person walking a dog on Friday, Oct. 2. 

The death investigation is being conducted by the Racine County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Racine County Medical Examiner's Office.
