Biltrite Furniture & Mattress says it's here for the long haul despite the current pandemic
Greenfield (CBS 58)--92 years in operation. "Biltrite Furniture & Mattress" just missed the first pandemic of 1918. But now it's certainly feeling the affects of COVID-19 head on! But store spokesperson, Randi K, says her family business has endured so much, and they will again. She says times like this only make you stronger if you can survive. And this is what she and her family intend to do.
In fact with the "Safer at Home" order still in place, many of us are assessing what we have in terms of furniture throughout the house. Randi K says whatever you possess needs to be comfortable, durable, and physically supportive. She also highly recommends getting rid of old, sinking mattresses with popped springs. And even Biltrite is considered "non essential" right now, Randi believes her kind of store will be a popular place to shop in the "new normal."
Biltrite is still taking phone orders during this time. And keep in mind many businesses like this one are offering some deep discounts even though the doors to the store are still technically closed.
Also, like I mentioned in one of the video segments of this story, Biltrite is appealing its "non-essential" status during this pandemic. If you feel your business should be "essential" as well, you have to file a formal appeal through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, or WEDC. Click here to get you to its site.
