Bill Clinton Called Rapist During Milwaukee Visit
(CBSNews) Bill Clinton was in Milwaukee talking about climate change when Trump-friendly protesters interrupted his event, shouting, “Bill Clinton is a rapist!”
The protesters were removed, but Clinton told the crowd to give them a hand because “they had a bad day yesterday,” in an indirect reference to the Trump tape released Friday.
“Don’t worry about it -- thank you,” he said. “You gotta feel sorry for them -- they had a bad day yesterday, so they’re trying to make it up. Give them a hand.”
He added, “Now let me say, this is what is the matter with politics: when other people pour poison down your throat, don’t drink it.”
After the video with Trump’s lewd remarks about women was published by the Washington Post, Trump’s first statement dismissed the tape as a “private conversation” and “locker room banter,” but added, “Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course - not even close.”
And then in the video statement apologizing for the remarks, Trump had another Clinton coda that went, “I’ve said some foolish things but there’s a big difference between the words and actions of other people,” he said, before closing with a threat to talk more about Bill Clinton’s past. “Bill Clinton has actually abused women and Hillary has bullied, attacked, shamed and intimidated his victims. We will discuss this more in the coming days.”
