WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A bicyclist was seriously injured after Washington County officials say an impaired driver struck them in the Town of Jackson and then fled the scene. 

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says on Sept. 3, just before 4:15 p.m., they received a report of a vehicle vs. bicycle crash on Division Road and Wester Avenue. 

The bicyclist, a Germantown man in his 60s, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

Officials say the striking driver fled the scene. 

During an ongoing investigation, authorities located the suspect vehicle in Ozaukee County and a traffic stop was conducted; however, the driver fled and after a brief pursuit the driver stopped and was taken into custody. 

The driver was identified by officials as a 30-year-old man from out of state who was in the area for work. The sheriff's office says it's believed the man was impaired by alcohol at the time of the crash. 

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office intend to seek charges.
