$5,000 reward offered to catch person who vandalized Beaver Dam Rotary Lights

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A $5,000 reward is being offered to help find the person(s) responsible for vandalizing the Beaver Dam Rotary Lights in Swan Park. 

The vandalism occurred on Thursday, Dec. 5. 

According to police, the tip needs to be received no later than March 15, and it must directly lead to the arrest and conviction. 

The $5,000 reward was offered by an anonymous donor. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Holiday lights in Beaver Dam's Swan Park were vandalized, causing approximately $3,000 in damage overnight Wednesday, Dec. 4. 

According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, the person(s) responsible stole golf carts to damage the lights. Several displays, trees and newly-created gingerbread house were damaged or destroyed. 

The light displays, operated by the Beaver Dam Rotary Club, were set to be turned on Thursday evening, Dec. 5. 

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt, who is the Chair of the Beaver Dam Rotary Lights Committee, will be working to get the park back in shape in time for the lights to go on. 

Officials say this is the third time in as many years that theft or vandalism has occurred to Rotary Lights.

If anyone has any information as to the identity of the perpetrators, you're encouraged to reach out to the Beaver Dam Police Department.
