Bastille Days in Milwaukee will have a Moment of Silence for Nice

Bastille Days in downtown Milwaukee will have a moment of silence to honor the victims of Nice.

According to a release from Bastille Days, the moment of silence will take place at the main stage in Cathedral Square Park this evening at 7 p.m.

Longtime Bastille Days partner, The Very Reverend Jeffery Haines, pastor and rector of St. John’s Cathedral, will share his condolences.

Kim Morris, Festival Director of Bastille Days, and Anne Leplae, Executive Director of the Alliance Française de Milwaukee, will also share a few remarks before the festival takes a moment of silence. The ceremony will conclude with Robin Pluer singing venerable French ballads as the Eiffel Tower lights are turned off for the remainder of the festival.

“While our thoughts are with our cultural brethren in Nice, Bastille Days remains committed to delivering a fun and safe event, and looks forward to carrying on the tradition of this revered celebration,” said Morris in a previous statement.
