Thousand Oaks, CA (KTLA) -- A Thousand Oaks High School senior was looking to stand out from the crowd in hopes of landing a scholarship to play college baseball at a Division I school.
So, he decided to think outside the box and auction himself off on eBay.
Austin Herold described himself as a \"right-handed thrower\" who was \"All League Ventura County, All Marmonte League and Offensive Player of the Year\" in 2013 on his eBay listing page.
He boasted a natural athleticism and said he was 'passionate about the game and playing at the next level.\"
Herold had strong stats but was still having a hard time getting the attention of recruiters.
\"It's a little unconventional,\" Herold admitted. But he said he had nothing to lose.
The winning bid on Herold's auction was $22.50.
It was not known if any college coaches were taking notice.
