Art Museum starting narrated trolley tours of Sculpture Milwaukee

Milwaukee Art Museum docents are stepping outside Museum walls to acquaint visitors with 22 temporarily installed sculptures along Wisconsin Avenue. As part of Sculpture Milwaukee, the 60-minute, narrated trolley tours will depart every Wednesday at 1:30 PM until October 18 from the Museum’s main entrance.

Advance reservations are required and can be made at [email protected] or by calling 414-224-3842. Tickets for the tour are $15 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. The price of the tour does not include admission to the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Sculpture Milwaukee is an outdoor urban sculpture experience in downtown Milwaukee, on view until October 22. Featuring 22 sculptures by 21 artists, the pieces are located along Wisconsin Avenue from 6th Street to O’Donnell Park and are free to the public. Works by Donald Baechler, Lynda Benglis, Chakaia Booker, Deborah Butterfield, Santiago Calatrava, Saint Clair Cemin, Tony Cragg, Jim Dine, Paul Druecke, Michelle Grabner, John Henry, Sol LeWitt, Dennis Oppenheim, Tom Otterness, Will Ryman, Alison Saar, Joel Shapiro, Jessica Stockholder, Tony Tasset, Manolo Valdes and Jason S. Yi are showcased.

Sculpture Milwaukee is slated to be an annual exhibition, highlighting new artists and works each year. Sculptures within the installation are available for purchase. A percentage of the commission of each sale will be reinvested into Sculpture Milwaukee for continuation of the program into future years.
