Chicago, IL (WGN/ CLTV) -- Questions remain in the fatal shooting of an Arkansas man who stopped to ask for directions early Thursday morning.
Police say the victim and another man were lost around 4 a.m. Thursday.
They approached a stranger near the Dan Ryan Expressway and asked for help. The stranger they approached somehow hopped in their car, pulled a gun, and robbed the men and made off with $400.
Before escaping, the gunman turned around and shot 55-year-old Robert Franklin in the back four times.
Police then say, Franklin's friend behind the wheel drove until he found a hospital ending up at Cook County Hospital on the West Side. There, Franklin was pronounced dead.
Police continue to investigate.
And autopsy for Franklin is scheduled for Friday.
