The 36-year-old officer was shot Aug. 22 following a chase and shootout in Milwaukee.
On Wednesday, Sept. 1, we learned the unnamed officer is still in the hospital, and his condition is slowly improving.
"The officer that's injured, he's going to have a long road ahead of him, back and forth to the hospital," said Greenfield Police Captain Scott Zienkiewicz. "And his family, the loss of income from missing work and the physical and mental struggle he's going to have to go through."
Two local businesses are showing their support.
Lyla's Lemonade and Jen's Sweet Treats will sell baked goods at the rally.
Some of the proceeds will benefit the officer and his family.
