Annual International Kite Festival takes flight this weekend at Veterans Park

The spirit of aviation will be celebrated in Milwaukee this weekend during the 38th Annual Maggiano's Frank Mots International Kite Festival.

The event is held at Veterans Park, Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10am-6pm and Sunday, Sept. 11 from 10am-5pm. The event is free and so is parking.

If you don't have a kite of your own to bring, don't worry. Participants can get one at the festival.

Ahead of the event, Guy Smith, with Milwaukee County Parks, and Scott Fisher, owner of Gift of Wings, stopped by the CBS 58 News at 4 on Friday to talk about what's new. They also highlighted specific events geared toward the public and kids.
