Angels Among Us Opening Warming Center For the Night
CBS 58 visited a new emergency warming shelter for the group "Angels Among Us."
Supplies were ready to go at noon.
Blankets, coats, and winter boots are here for anyone who needs a place to warm up.
Earlier this morning they had no place to go, but after our newscast things came together.
Last night volunteers housed more than 60 people in their emergency warming shelter on Milwaukee's South side.
That's more than double what they had the night before.
With the cold snap, it's going to be another busy day for volunteers not just in terms of providing necessities for the night, but figuring out where to go next.
"Find us a building, find us someone who is willing to give 'Angels Among Us' a building to do this, not just on 10-degree or below days, but everyday,” Kristy Jackson, Angels Among Us said.
The warming shelter will open at 7 PM on Wednesday and right now they're in serious need of winter boot donations.
