Brookfield police identify man killed in car versus Amtrak train crash

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police have identified the man killed in a car versus train crash Thursday, Nov. 17 as 61-year-old Brookfield resident Thomas Seonbuchner.

Police say a westbound Amtrak train struck the victim's vehicle after it was driven around the train crossing gates.

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man is dead after an Amtrak train crashed into a car.

Police say it happened at the intersection of Brookfield Road and the railroad tracks south of River Road.

It happened shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday night, Nov. 17.

Brookfield police say the victim is in his 60s -- adding that it appears he tried to cross the tracks, despite crossing guards being down.

Amtrak officials tell us none of the 183 passengers or crew onboard are hurt.
