Amtrak announces midnight train on Saturday nights during Summerfest

If you live in Chicago, Racine or Kenosha on Saturdays during Summerfest, you can take the train to the festival in Milwaukee, then head back home on the special Amtrak midnight train departing from the Milwaukee Intermodal Station at 11:55 PM.

There will be a free midnight train shuttle bus from Summerfest to the train station. The shuttle bus will be located by the South Bar Bus pick-up location on the northside of Polk Street approximately 1 block west of the Summerfest South Gate entrance (by the American Family Insurance Amphitheatre). The shuttle bus will be clearly marked and will depart for the Milwaukee Intermodal Station at approximately 11:25 PM. This will be the only shuttle departure to take passengers to the 11:55 train.

The midnight train will operate Saturday July 1 and 8 during Summerfest. The train will leave Milwaukee at 11:55 PM, stop at the airport rail station at 12:04 PM, Sturtevant at 12:19 AM, Glenview, Illinois at 12:55 AM and finally arrive in Chicago at 1:23 AM.
