MILWAUKEE (CBS58) -- Alderman Tony Zielinski will address Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett's veto of the Council resolution at 12 p.m. at City Hall.
The Common Council voted 8 to 6 in favor of the measure Tuesday to request from the state the authority to remove Police Chief Ed Flynn. Barrett vetoed the resoultion.
Under current state law, only the Fire and Police Commission can fire the police chief.
Joining Alderman Zielinski will be Alderman Bob Donovan, chair of the Public Safety and Health Committee, and Alderman Mark A. Borkowski, chair of the Judiciary and Legislation Committee and Alderman José G. Pérez.
Barrett has always said he opposes the bill proposal.
