WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul gave a press conference Wednesday, April 13 in Madison to talk about the Safer Wisconsin legislation.
The AG called for more funding to law enforcement and victim services. It also calls for gun laws that restrict access to guns from those with felonies.
Kaul also called on lawmakers to pass the legislation despite them saying they won't pass any more laws for the rest of the year.
"And we need our Legislature to take action now to help support public safety efforts in communities across the state," said Kaul.
Kaul was joined by Democratic state senators who argued for the bill, saying it's crucial to invest in things like community policing and violence prevention.
