MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Attorney General Josh Kaul gave remarks Friday and touched on how the Office of School Safety is addressing recent issues.
"One of the things that we have preached, with respect to the Office of School Safety and the work that it does, is the importance of getting the information from students, and others who first see concerning information, to trusted adults. That's why we have a 24/7 tip line, the Speak Up, Speak Out program. But we also want to encourage anybody who has concerning information to reach out. The more that we have positive interventions happen early, the less likely that an incident is going to occur," AG Kaul said.
Kaul also says the Office of School Safety is working on training to prevent targeted violence in our schools.
He says people often go down a common pathway when committing targeted violence, and he hopes that increased training would help detect signs of violence earlier on and keep the communities safer.
