Advanced Auto Parts, Milwaukee police partner for program to increase vehicle safety
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A partnership between Advanced Auto Parts (AAP) and the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) hopes to make the roads a little safer.
Friday, Sept. 17, AAP donated $2,500 to MPD in the form of a store gift card. Instead of issuing equipment violation citations, for example, a broken headline, officers can issue a $10 gift card to them instead.
"In regards to the equipment violations, this is an engagement way that MPD can play a part in working with our community to have safer driving, and ensure that our community understand that we are a partner in safety in regards to the city of Milwaukee," said Milwaukee Police Department Acting Chief Jeffrey Norman.
Motorists with a gift card may use it at any AAP location in Milwaukee, throughout Wisconsin, or online HERE.
