Active Sunday morning for Milwaukee firefighters

MILWAUKEE, WI (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Fire Department responded to two house fires Sunday morning.

Twenty minutes after midnight, firefighters were called for a chimney fire in a home at S Whitnall Avenue and S Lenox Street.   According to the MFD, the fire extended into the walls of the building.   One firefighter was injured while fighting the fire.   The firefighter was treated for a laceration and is in stable condition.   The occupants of the house were displaced but did not require the services of the Red Cross.   There is no dollar estimate of damage and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Just before 8 AM a fire was reported in  a home at N 41st and W Lloyd Streets.   The fire was confined to the attic of the house and firefighters had it under control within an hour.   There was no report of injuries or the amount of damage to the home.   The cause of the fire is being investigated.
