A World of Espionage & Intrigue: Milwaukee's SafeHouse Turns 50

It's a 50-year milestone for what some call a Milwaukee "institution."  The SafeHouse Restaurant and Bar has been feeding people's stomachs and hunger for mystery and intrigue for a half-century now.  Of course you need a password to enter the iconic establishment in an alleyway near Water and Wells.

This evening there's a special party commemorating the big anniversary from 8 until midnight, and the public is welcome.  I had the chance to see some of the renovations, including the new Interpol Bar when you first enter and the recently-unveiled World Orientation Map where you can "spy" on other parts of the world. Of course, the standards are still there, like the Magic Bar and the Puzzle Wall.
