A Neighbors Concern and Officers Quick Thinking Saved a Milwaukee Man's Life

Neighbors on West Dean Road may have saved a man who had not been seen several days.

According to Milwaukee Police, officers were dispatched to the 7700 block of W. Dean Road around 12:45 AM on Thursday for a welfare check.

The caller contacted 911 because she had not seen her neighbor, a 64-year-old man, for several days and this was out of the ordinary.

When the officers from District Four arrived at the scene, the man’s car and motorcycle was still in his garage but no one answered the door when they knocked on it.

After knocking repeatedly, the officers decided to force entry into the home to check on his welfare and when they did, they found the man lying face down on the floor.

The man had suffered a medical episode, suspected to be a stroke, as he could not remember basic information about himself.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of several medical issues and doctors at the hospital credited the actions of the officers in helping to save the man’s life.
