A Few Good Marines Collecting Toys for Countless Kids

U.S. Marines were stationed at the Toys R Us on Milwaukee's south side Tuesday for "Toys for Tots."

It was a way for this longtime charity to get in on the relatively new "giving Tuesday" movement.

"It's an awesome feeling," said Staff Sgt. Jerome Vereen. "We all get caught up in our jobs and everyday lives. But taking the time out to do this. That's what it's all about. Bringing joy to the holiday season."

Customers can donate new, unwrapped toys now through Wednesday, December 7 at Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us stores nationwide.

Cash donations will be collected through Christmas Eve at stores nationwide or online.

Fans attending the game will have the opportunity to donate new, unwrapped toys for distribution to needy children in the area through the U.S. Marine Corps.

Cash donations will be accepted as well.

U.S. Marines will be stationed around the Lambeau Field parking lots to collect donations prior to the beginning of the game.

The total amount of toys and cash collected will be announced during the game’s second half.
