NOW: A cool and wet May comes to an end, but June is the wettest month of the year on average
NEXT:

May was fairly wet across southeast Wisconsin. We had multiple rounds of strong to severe storms as well as just some plain old heavy rain. The month ended as the 31st wettest May on record with 4.36" of rain which is about 0.80" above average. However, it still wasn't as wet as last May when we had over 6.50" of rain.

As the rain fell down during May, the temperatures stayed cool. The average temperature for the month of 52.5 degrees was over four and a half degrees below average and goes down as the 38th coolest May on record. The coldest temperature in May happened on May 9th when we dropped into the 30s with frost and freeze conditions. The warmest day was on May 16th when we reached the mid 80s!

We might not get much of a break from the rain during the month of June. On average, June is the wettest month of the year in southeast Wisconsin with over 4" of total rainfall. We do see good warming during the month with average highs going from the low 70s to the low 80s and average lows going from the low 50s to the low 60s.
