'A beautiful person': Vigil held for 15-year-old shot and killed in Milwaukee, search for suspect continues
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The search continues for the person responsible for shooting and killing 15-year-old Azoria Jones Sunday, Sept. 21 in Milwaukee.
Tuesday, Sept. 23, Jones' family and friends were in tears as they held a vigil and paid tribute to the girl they say was taken from them too soon.
"If there was somebody that was like hurt or something, she would jump out the car,” said Jones' aunt, Desma Harris-Keys.
Those who were there to remember her say she was someone you always wanted to have around.
"A beautiful person," said Harris-Keys. "Good spirit, good heart, loved school, loved helping anybody. Goofy, loved to dance, loved to eat.”
Milwaukee police say Jones was shot and killed Sunday night just after 10 p.m. near 76th and West Silver Spring Drive.
Her loved ones looking for answers and demanding justice for the young girl they say meant everything to them.
"Justice for Azoria," said those gathered as they released balloons in her memory: never forgetting the girl, they say, is now forever 15.
MPD says this remains an active investigation and continuing to look for unknown suspects. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at (414) 935-7360 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-Tips or P3 Tips.
