72-Year-old Milwaukee man arrested for pointing gun at MPS employee

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police arrested a 72-year-old Milwaukee man who allegedly displayed a handgun during an altercation with a Riverside High School student on February 3rd. He also allegedly pointed that gun at Milwaukee Public Schools employees shortly after the dispute with the student.


Police say the 72-year-old man and the 17-year-old student were involved in an altercation around 7:00 a.m. at a business located on the 1700 block of E. Locust. We're told the 72-year-old man is the owner of that business. The teen told police the business owner displayed a gun during the altercation.


The 72-year-old man appeared at Riverside High School a short time after the incident. He spoke with two female MPS employees, a 55-year-old woman and a 38-year-old woman, about the incident. During the discussion he allegedly pulled out his gun and pointed it at the 38-year-old school employee.


Police arrested the 72-year-old business owner for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
