7 displaced in Racine house fire, no one hurt

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) – Seven people are displaced following an early morning fire in Racine.

The Racine Fire Department says it was called to a home shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday, September 17 near 17th and Franklin.

Authorities say firefighters found smoke coming from the first floor and were able to quickly put out the fire.

A woman living in the home was able to wake up her children and get them out of the house to safety.

The fire is estimated in causing $20,000 in damage. No one was hurt. The fire remains under investigation and the Red Cross is assisting those displaced.
