67-year-old man dies in Walworth County T-bone crash
On Wednesday July 5 at approximately 2:16 PM the Walworth County Sheriff's Office received a report of an injury crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 67 and Highway K in Sharon.
Initial investigation reveals a blue 2005 Ford Taurus was driving north on Highway K driven by 19-year-old Isabel Lavariega Bazan of Sharon. This car failed to stop at the posted stop sign and crashed into a brown 2008 Subaru Outback driven by 67-year-old Loren Huffman also from Sharon. The drivers were the only occupants in each vehicle. The brown Subaru was westbound on Highway 67 with the right of way and was struck in the driver’s side by the Ford Taurus.
Isabel Lavariega Bazan sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Loren Huffman sustained critical injuries, and despite life-saving efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead by the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office at 3:45 PM.
