MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A local nonprofit is working to have 6,000 men take a pledge to end sex trafficking.
The campaign precedes next summer's Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, an event that will draw tens of thousands of people to southeast Wisconsin.
"A lot of things happen at big events behind the scenes that folks don't know about," said Pastor Arnold Cifax Sr. of New Testament Church. "With us being aware that Super Bowl was another big event, over 150 people were saved from being involved with sex trafficking there. Because of the collaboration that we have with the national human trafficking organizations and the FBI and others, we're able to move some of that out. We're looking to do the same thing for Milwaukee."
Men can visit CRC's website at www.convergenceresource.org/hemad-campaign to watch the video, and then sign in to take the pledge.
