501St Legion, Rebel Legion, & R2D2 Builders Group at Discovery World

Discovery World on Milwaukee’s lakefront will be overrun by Chewbacca, Lord Vader, Luke Skywalker, R2D2 and other Star Wars legends!
Three separate volunteer groups – the 501st Legion, the Rebel Legion and the R2D2 Builders Group – will display hand-made costumes, character outfits and robots from the Star Wars Series of films.
The innovation, creativity and ingenuity that go into the costumes and the theatrics will be on display for one day only at Milwaukee’s Center for Public Innovation.

Discovery World will be filled with opportunities for interactive experiences with Star Wars characters, including photo backdrops for capturing memories with your favorite hero or villain, interactive presentations in the Discovery World theaters and do-it-yourself projects in the Kohl’s Design It! Lab. $2 from every General Admission ticket sold will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

While continuing to offer past experiences that have drawn the attention from fans throughout the Midwest, Discovery World will unveil a handful of new attractions and activities for October 19. Beloved visual storyteller and renowned comics figure Dave Dorman will lead “How to draw a Star Wars Character” in the Discovery World Digital Theater. Dorman was voted the #1 Star Wars Artist worldwide by fans, and George Lucas owns more than 90 of Dorman’s paintings.

Another new experience will be a special presentation from the Kenosha LEGO Users Group. The builders group uses LEGO to create new and innovative designs and build amazingly detailed models from traditional LEGO bricks. All fans in attendance can witness the large scale Star Wars LEGO character specifically built for this one-day event.

Finally, the “Knights of the Howling Moon” will showcase an all-new light saber demonstration. Participants will show off a new routine for guests in the Discovery World Theater. A $2 donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation is required to view the light saber demonstration. This special event will take place on Saturday, October 19, from 10am until 5pm at Discovery World on Milwaukee’s lakefront.
