Milwaukee (CBS 58) -- Art really does imitate life, especially during this pandemic. So much is still shut down these days, including art galleries.
"5 Points Art Gallery & Studios" on Milwaukee's north side opened a year-and-a-half ago, but the doors have been closed since March when the coronavirus really started to affect the area.
Owner Fatima Laster says a lot of her business is done virtually now with tours of the mixed-use art space. She also stays connected with various artist through numerous online chats. Laster insists at a time like this, you have to stay flexible.
Beside the gallery, 5 Points also houses a shared commercial kitchen and two artist residency apartments. The owner says she currently working on adding online workshops and making her gift shop virtual as well. To find out more about this exhibition space and its interesting history, just click here.
Laster also recommends local artists to stay connected, at least virtually during these times, through the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network, or MARN.
