5 injured in separate overnight shootings across Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Five people were injured in overnight shootings in Milwaukee. Police are investigating all of the shootings and they have no suspects in custody.  

The first shooting happened around 8:53 p.m. on Sunday, July 17. A 32-year-old man from Milwaukee was struck by gunfire. He sustained non-fatal injuries, and he is expected to survive. Police say he presented himself to a local hospital and they did not provide a location of the shooting.  

A second shooting happened around 10:25 p.m. near Townsend and N. 1st St. A 56-year-old Milwaukee man, sustained non-fatal injuries after being struck by gunfire. He was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive. The circumstances leading up to the shooting resulted from an argument. Milwaukee police continue to seek unknown suspect(s). 

Another shooting happened around 11:35 p.m. Sunday, near S 24th St. and Maple St. A 20-year-old Milwaukee man sustained non-fatal injuries after being struck by gunfire. He presented himself to a local hospital where he is expected to survive. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Milwaukee police continue to seek unknown suspect(s).  

Milwaukee police are also investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 1 a.m. near 27th and Burleigh St. A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman, sustained non-fatal injuries after being struck by gunfire. She presented herself to a local hospital where she is expected to survive. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation however the victim was not the intended target and was unintentionally struck by gunfire. Milwaukee police continue to seek unknown suspect(s).  

A fifth shooting took place Monday, July 18 around 1:30 a.m. near 42nd and Silver Spring Dr. A 42-year-old Milwaukee man, sustained non-fatal injuries after being struck by gunfire. He presented himself to a local hospital where he is expected to survive. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Milwaukee police continue to seek unknown suspect(s).
