33-Year-old woman busted for drunk driving at rummage sale

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- 33-year-old Erica Riedel of Oconomowoc is facing criminal charges after allegedly driving drunk with her infant son in the car. Riedel was busted at a rummage sale she drove to on July 11, 2014.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department received a call about a drunk woman at a Town of Genesee rummage sale. The sheriff's department was told the intoxicated woman drove to the rummage sale with a small child in her car.

Witnesses say Riedel was slurring her words and stumbling at the rummage sale. Riedel allegedly lost track of her son at the rummage sale. Several people spread out and searched for the child.

Sheriff's deputies arrived at the rummage sale and began questioning Riedel. She told deputies multiple times she didn't consume any alcoholic beverages. The criminal complaint says Riedel failed a field sobriety test conducted near her parked car. The sheriff's department says Riedel had a .24 blood alcohol concentration.

Riedel has two previous drunk driving convictions from 2003 and 2006. Riedel is charged with her third offense DUI.
