3-Year-Old Boy Accidentally Shot and Killed in Waukegan

CHICAGO (CBS) — A 3-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed early Thursday in north suburban Waukegan.

Police and fire authorities responded to a report of a shooting shortly before 3:00 AM in the 1100 block of Greenfield Avenue, according to Waukegan Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Christensen.

Paramedics took a 3-year-old boy to Vista West Medical Center in Waukegan, where he was pronounced dead, according to Christensen.

Police said the shooting was an accident.
