WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- People dusted off their flannels in an early celebration of National Flannel Day.
National Flannel Day is on Monday, but people gathered on Saturday, Feb. 8 to celebrate the fun and culture of the Wisconsin clothing stable early for Flannelpalooza.
There was axe throwing, a chainsaw carving, and a beard contest among other activities.
This is the second year the local clothing store, The Flannel Fox, has put on this event.
"I think it's just something everybody needed this time of year, when it's so quiet and nothing is happening," said Melyssa Bauer, co-owner of The Flannel Fox.
People also donated winter gloves, jeans, and other items for the Street Angels outreach program, which provided basic necessities to people in Milwaukee County.
