26-year-old Milwaukee man fatally shot near 61st and Carmen

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Sunday, Sept. 26, near 61st and Carmen.

Police report that the shooting occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m.

Authorities say the victim, a 26-year-old man from Milwaukee, suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Milwaukee police indicate that the victim was treated on scene by Milwaukee Fire Department personnel but later succumbed to his injuries.

Officials say the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.

Milwaukee police continue to seek an unknown suspect.
