Afternoon Update: Light snow comes to an end this evening
Updated: Sunday, December 31st 3:25 pm:
Snow across southeast Wisconsin has been very light today, but it's been enough to cause a few slick spots (along with the earlier freezing drizzle). Another area of light snow is pivoting through SE WI this afternoon, moving from north to south.
This will likely be the last push of snow for inland areas, but areas right along the lakefront may be brushed by a little lake effect snow this evening, especially near Racine and Kenosha.
If Milwaukee avoids picking up 0.1" of snow before midnight, December 2023 will go down in the books as only the third December on record to not have any measurable snow.

Update as of 11 a.m. Sunday, December 31st...
The Winter Weather Advisory has been canceled. Just expect scattered snow showers and breezy conditions the rest of the day into the evening. A slight accumulation is possible. Watch for slick spots tonight and drive carefully. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Update as of 9:00 a.m. Sunday, December 31st...
it looks like most of the wintry mix is transitioning to snow shower activity for the rest of the day. But the Winter Weather Advisory holds until noon today. Still watch the bridges, overpasses, on and off ramps, and untreated surfaces. Lakeside temperatures continue to be a bit milder. The snow should taper off this evening but not before giving us a slight accumulation in certain areas. There might even be a bit of lake enhancement this evening too. Please watch the roads this evening as well as temperatures start to fall below freezing.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--It might as well feel and look like winter before the year ends, right? We have a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until noon on Sunday. Expect a wintry mix of light freezing rain and snow to gradually switch over to snow showers during the afternoon and early evening hours. Some lake enhancement could linger into later in the night. Most of us should receive less than an inch of snow. But please watch the roads. Possible slick spots could prevail all day long and even into tonight. As far as weather goes, it looks pretty quiet all week long with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s.
