MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wednesday, Oct. 14 is the eve of the 12th annual Milwaukee Film Festival.
That festival has turned into a major cultural event -- only this year, organizers are adapting, like everyone else.
This year, you won't be able to go down to the Oriental or the Downer or one of Milwaukee's other historic movie houses.
Thanks to coronavirus, the festival has gone virtual. But what movie fans lose in ambiance, you could say they gain in convenience.
All 197 movies will be streamed.
"The nice thing about that is that it's really accessible," said Katrina Henderson, marketing director of Milwaukee Film. "People don't have to schlep to a theater, even though theaters are wonderful to watch any of the films. They can watch them from their own home, either through their TV, computer, tablets, smart phone, anything."
The festival runs from 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 through Oct. 29.
You can buy a pass or single tickets to gain access.
