Victims identified following 2 fatal shootings on Milwaukee's northwest side

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The victims of both fatal Sunday shootings have been identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office.

The 40-year-old who was shot near 107th and Wabash is Brandon Edwards of Milwaukee.

The 53-year-old who was shot along Mill has been identified as Brian Johnson. Officials say he was in a physical altercation with his wife before being reportedly shot by his son.

MPD tells CBS 58 the suspect is a 26-year-old man and is still in custody.


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating two separate deadly shootings that happened earlier Sunday afternoon, Jan. 3. on Milwaukee's northwest side. 

Police say the two shootings are not related to each other. 

The first victim, a 40-year-old, was shot and killed near 107th and Wabash Ave around 2 p.m. Milwaukee police are still seeking out suspect(s) in the shooting of the 40-year-old. 

The second, a 53-year-old, was shot and killed along W. Mill Rd around 3:40 p.m. Sunday afternoon. A suspect is in custody for the shooting of the 53-year-old and charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney Office. 

The circumstances leading up to both shootings are under investigation.
