17-Year-Old charged after bringing gun to Case High School during a fight

An officer with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department was on duty at Case High School in Racine when he was made aware of a fight between two students in front of the school.

The officer spoke with one of the men involved in the fight on April 26th who stated that he believed a fellow student stole money from him. He refused to release the name of the person he was involved in the fight with.

During the course of the investigation, the officer spoke with a parent of a Case High School student who observed the fight. The parent said that she thought the two men were play fighting until she saw one of the men take a metallic object believed to be a black pistol out of his pocket.

Police identified the student believed to have had the gun on him. They made contact with the 17-year-old student at his home who denied owning a gun, but officers located a firearm on his bed.

The 17-year-old now faces charges of Possession of a Firearm on Grounds of a School, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person Under 18, and Disorderly Conduct.
