16-Year-Old Facing Robbery and Battery Charges After Man was Attacked Walking Home
RACINE - Officers with the Racine Police Department were dispatched for an assault that occurred.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim stated that he was walking home near 16th and Racine Street when three males tackled him from behind. According to the complaint, the males then struck him an unknown amount of times causing the victim immediate pain.
The males then attempted to take the victims cell phone and keys but he was able to stuff them down his pants before they grabbed them. The males did, however, take his phone charger and then fled the area in an unknown direction. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The victim recognized one of the males from seeing him around and hearing about him. He identified him as Jahmal Furet.
Furet now faces robbery, battery, and disorderly conduct charges. His preliminary hearing is set for April 6th.
