16-Year-Old Dies After Shooting Near Bugline Trail in Sussex

MILWAUKEE: The 16-year-old victim from the Bugline Trail shooting in Sussex has died from his injuries.

George Erickson was shot during a suspected drug transaction on May 14 around 3:35 pm. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Village of Pewaukee Police Department and Village of Menomonee Falls Police Department along with the Village of Sussex Fire Department responded to the area of the Bugline Trail and Pick n Save in the Village of Sussex for a report of shots fired.

A 16-year-old male from Sussex was found lying in the grass on the north side of the Pick N Save parking lot with a gunshot wound.

The scene was secured and EMS started life-saving measures on the male subject.  The subject was transported by the Sussex Fire Department to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and later transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.

A 22-year-old and a 19-year-old are currently in custody for the shooting.
