TOWN OF RUBICON - A 14-year-old is dead following a motor vehicle crash on Pond Road east of County Highway P in the Township of Rubicon.

On March 10th shortly after 7 a.m., the Dodge County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash.

Preliminary investigation shows that a 16-year-old male was operating a 2006 Pontiac eastbound on Pond when the Pontiac drifted onto the right/south shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle began a counter-clockwise spin and then vaulted. A 14-year-old male passenger from Rubicon was ejected as the vehicle overturned. The passenger was taken to Children's Hospital by Flight for Life in Milwaukee. He, unfortunately, died today as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash. He has been identified as Cade Werner.

The 16-year-old driver was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.
