Zumba Fitness Party dances into Milwaukee County Zoo for animal sponsorship fundraiser
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Zoo is set to host a Zumba Fitness Party, offering folks a chance to engage in high-energy dance routines led by licensed instructors on Saturday, Nov. 4. Not only is it an opportunity to work up a sweat, but it also serves as a fundraiser for the zoo's "Sponsor an Animal" program.
Attendees can expect a two-hour Zumba session beginning at 5 p.m., led by Zumba Jammer Rachel Beimel and other licensed instructors. Check-in starts at 4 p.m. at the Peck Welcome Center.
The Zoological Society, which organizes the event, noted in a Thursday, Oct. 26 press release that Zumba's known benefits, such as stress reduction and heart strengthening, combine with the added bonus of supporting the zoo's mission.
Registration can be done in advance on the Zoological Society's website at a cost of $25. On-site registration on the day of the party will be available at $30, provided it has not sold out.
All fitness levels are welcome, though participants must be at least 14 years old. The deadline for pre-registration is Friday, Nov. 3.
