Young Milwaukee man injured in south side shooting Monday night

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating the shooting of a young man Monday night on Milwaukee’s south side.   The shooting happened around  10:30 PM  at S 34th and W Mitchell Streets.   The 24-year-old victim was wounded after hearing  gunfire, but the circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet clear.  The victim is being treated at a local hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.  The MPD is continuing to investigate the shooting.
