A young boy is in Children’s Hospital this morning after nearly drowning in Lake Michigan Tuesday evening. According to the Racine Police Department, the boy, between 6 and 7-years-old, was apparently walking on rocks when he slipped and fell into the lake. Authorities were called around 9:30 to the 800 block of Pershing Park Drive. Officers quickly located the boy under the water and Racine Rescue Personnel pulled him from the lake. According to the report, the boy had a pulse and was taken to Ascension Hospital. He was then transferred to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. His current condition is not known, but when transferred he was reported to be unconscious but breathing. The Racine Police are further investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
