Woman sentenced to 25 years in connection to fatal hit-and-run back in January of 2025
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee woman charged with first degree intentional homicide in connection to a hit-and-run that killed 41-year-old Mamadou Bamba back in January of 2025 has been sentenced.
Sixty-seven-year-old Shirley Hill was sentenced to 25 years in prison in connection to the deadly hit-and-run.
According to the complaint, the hit-and-run took place on the corner of 14th and North. When police reviewed security video of the incident, it showed a dark sedan pulling southbound on 14th St. then pulling over with two people exiting the car. One was identified as Bamba.
The driver, later identified as Shirley Hill, then gets out and walks to the back of the car. The driver and Bamba appear to get into a face-to-face verbal exchange.
Hill gets back into the car, and Bamba starts walking down the sidewalk when Hill drives the sedan accelerates and drives over the curb in the direction of Bamba. The complaint outlines that the car knocked down a tree and hit the side of a building before driving on the sidewalk in an attempt to hit Bamba again. The car then runs over Bamba, who has fallen in the road, and backs up before running him over again.
Hill stated to authorities that she became upset with Bamba for "smoking crack in her car," and claimed that Bamba pointed a gun at the car, but video evidence contradicts her claim.
