Woman robbed, car stolen at Brown Deer ATM
The US Bank ATM in the 4200 block of Brown Deer Road is busy. But, on Sunday night, a 61-year-old woman pulled into the bank parking lot, alone. It was a prime opportunity for thieves to take advantage.
Two young men ran up to the woman and forced themselves into her car, they held a gun to her head, made her drive to the ATM, took her cash and stole her car.
Brown Deer crime prevention Officer Brad Caddock says this type of crime is unacceptable.
\"Victims shouldn't have to go through this type of loss of their vehicle and have the impact upon them of a gun aimed towards them,\" Caddock said.
Police say the thieves looked to be 17 or 18 and also drove a getaway maroon Ford Taurus. They didn't tie them into any other crimes, but car thefts and brazen robberies have been an ongoing problem in the Milwaukee area. Bank customer Jerry White thinks teens not only lack guidance and positive influence, but he says they don't think about the long term.
\"I would ask them, what do you want out of your life? What do you want? DO you really want to mess up your life like this? Cause this type of stuff will follow you for the rest of your life,\" White said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Brown Deer Police.
