SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Shorewood police are continuing to investigate after a woman was robbed at gunpoint while brushing show off of her running car on Sunday, Jan. 24 around 7 a.m.
On Monday, Jan. 25, people in the area near Oakland and Edgewood Avenues were surprised to hear about the crime.
"It's really unfortunate," said Michelle, who works in the area.
She says her car was stolen when she left it running in Milwaukee in 2020.
"Isolated crime happens everywhere, but it's not something I associate when I think of Shorewood," she said. "I definitely sympathize with the victim... never leave your car running."
Police say the suspect, a white man in his twenties, displayed a gun to the victim and drove off in her car.
