Update: Milwaukee Police arrest suspect after woman fatally shot near 51st and Capitol

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police say they have arrested a suspect after a woman was fatally shot near 51st and Capitol.

According to police, the shooting stemmed from an argument after a minor car accident.

The investigation remains ongoing.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A fatal shooting is currently under investigation in Milwaukee.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. on Friday near 51st and Capitol.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the shooting stemmed from a minor car accident.

Police say the 46-year-old female passenger of the vehicle that was hit got out to confront the driver of the striking vehicle. Words were exchanged and the driver of the striking vehicle then pulled out a firearm and shot the woman.

The woman was driven to a local hospital and the suspect fled the scene.

The woman died from her injuries at the hospital.

Police are still searching for the vehicle and suspect involved.
