Woman Dies after Being Hit by Train in Mount Pleasant

On Saturday, January 9, at 2:08 PM a train conductor from the Union Pacific Railroad Company contacted the Racine County Communication’s Center because he observed a body lying motionless adjacent to the railroad tracks near Johnson Wax near the 1900 block of Willow Road.

Shortly after arrival, paramedics determined the person resting near the tracks was deceased. The body was identified as a 45-year-old female from Mount Pleasant. Officials did not observe any recent visible injuries to the woman's upper body.

Police, Union Pacific Railroad and Racine County Medical Examiner determined the death likely involved the woman being struck by a train.

Police do not believe foul play was a part of the incident.
